The new CD out by Amy Douglas, Heart of Courage, is a smooth flowing, easy listening CD that is filled with genuine emotion. I call it ‘easy listening’ because it is so easy to listen to. I say, ‘genuine emotion’ because as Amy sings you can actually feel the words penetrating your heart.
Amy’s voice is soft, yet powerful. Her singing is polished, yet touching. Her song writing—amazing! She wrote all the selections on this project and her song writing alone is unparalleled. One of the songs she wrote, Hero At Home, stands out as one of the most touching and is already causing quite an emotional stir in the hearts of many. This statement, found on her record label’s Website, sums it up nicely. "It’s not only our service men and women keeping America safe, but also the oft forgotten, "Heroes At Home", the spouses and families of these soldiers, who keep America running." Well said.
There is no denying that Amy is a gifted singer and songwriter. And this entire project was a pleasure to listen to. As I listened, I found her singing to be enjoyable to the ear, and the songs she has written, captivating to the heart.
I recommend this CD to everyone, but especially to those of you who are faint in heart. Each song provides a message that is sure to encourage you as well as give you strength for the journey. Listening to the songs on this CD could very well create in you—a Heart of Courage.
